The Fusion and even the ugly little CMAX are being discontinued by 2022. However, the smallest vehicle Ford will soon make is the Maverick pickup. No one will ever design another DCT trans like this again without wet clutches.įord's cars in general have been good quality and I remember a few years ago Ford was praised by the automotive review/news world as being on par with the quality of Toyota and Honda. This trans was an anomaly in Ford's history. This puts them in the position of being able to bump you for another customer that's more of a pita to them and knows exactly where they are in line. If you just call and you don't know your actual position in line then they can just keep telling you that it hasn't come in yet and you'll have no hard number to count down from. Get your actual # in line at this dealer this way you have a reference to go by. You stand in line with everyone else for a TCM. There's no such thing as expedite order no matter what they told you. There's a lot of people waiting that have a completely undrivable car that have a worse TCM condition than you. Some dealers are just more honest tan others.Īt least you can drive yours though with only occasional malfunction. If you don't check in then they may give a TCM that's scheduled for you to someone else that has been complaining or bothering them frequently. Your # should decrease every week or two as they trickle in and people ahead of you get there's fixed. Have you asked the dealer what # you are in the list of people from time to time? That's important so that you know you aren't getting passed over. If there's a long wait list then you will wait longer. As I understand it each dealer is allotted a specific # of TCMs each time they get shipped. You must have gone to a very busy dealership. I've heard of a few 4 month reports on here but 5 is the most so far. You already have a TCM on backorder and have been waiting since May?! That's 5 months. It's one of the few codes that pretty much say exactly what the problem is. There is no "700" code but if you mean the P0700 code then that's a straight up TCM malfunction.
